GENERALS ARE TOILING WITH BORO STALEMATE

- By Sam Gale

GOSPORT BOROUGH 0 CHESHAM UNITED 0

A GOALLESS draw ensued as mid-table Gosport Borough took on bottom-of-the-league Chesham United.

Before the game, Boro held a service for the soldiers lost in both wars and for the tragic Leicester City plane crash – three serviceman and a Leicester representative were involved in the service.

The game started with Chesham having concrete chances that could easily have led to them scoring, including rattling the crossbar.

It was not the easiest game on the eye as for a long period of time neither side really dominated the game.

The next proper chance fell to Patrick Suraci, firing the ball wide of the Chesham goalkeeper Ben Goode’s right-hand post.

The half-time whistle blew and one team had to come out and put a stamp on the game to have any hope of edging it.

The game got back under way and it was cards galore as there was four in 11 minutes, including a second yellow for Harry Medway after a tackle on the edge of the box.

Despite some late Chesham pressure, Boro were able to soak it up and pick up a point.

Gosport’s next game is a tough away fixture against Weymouth FC and Chesham take on Worthing in the FA Trophy. STAR MAN: Jefferson Louis (Chesh) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
