STEVE Flynn was on target for Bournemout­h Poppies as they drew 1-1 at home to Team Solent.

The goal came on 56 minutes after a throw from Ron Frost. Poppies had chances to make the game safe but Hicham Kasimu drew the visitors level late on to earn a point at Victoria Park.

Scott Munro was on target as Alresford Town were 2-1 winners at AFC Portcheste­r. Town then doubled their advantage before the hosts pulled one back late on.

At the Silverlake Arena, Sholing were 3-0 winners versus Christchur­ch to continue their unbeaten league run this campaign into the New Year.

It was goalless until the 69th minute when Daniel Mason eventually found the target for the hosts. Byron Mason added the second on 79 minutes, following an assist from TJ Cuthbertso­n.

Mason then got the third on 84 minutes with an overhead kick to seal it.

WESTERN LEAGUE

WESTBURY United returned to winning ways away at Bridport, with top scorer Callum Demkiv scoring five minutes from time to triumph 1-0.

Willand Rovers were big winners away at Hallen, with Craig Duff, Luke Mortimore, Josh Searle and Aidan Moyle netting in the 4-0 win.

Bradford and Bridgwater battled to a goalless draw, while Ryan Bush scored six minutes from time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Buckland at home to Roman Glass St George.

Joe McLennan scored twice to help Bitton overcome an early deficit during their 4-1 win at home to Wellington, with the in-form Clevedon defeating Cadbury Heath by the same scoreline.

Second-half goals from Joe Morgan and Kailan Gould led Shepton Mallet to a 2-0 triumph over Brislingto­n, as Plymouth Parkway beat Hengrove 10, thanks to Adam Carter, and Shortwood drew 1-1 with Cribbs.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

IT WAS top versus bottom at Biggleswad­e FC as visitors Stotfold picked up just their sixth point of the season after a 1-1 draw.

Pat McCafferty put the hosts ahead on 17 minutes but Khy Cyrus equalised from the penalty spot soon after.

Tring Athletic took full advantage and moved to the league summit after they beat Cockfoster­s 3-1 with James Verney (2) and George Ironton scoring.

Hadley make up the top three after their 15th league win of the season, 30 at home to Leverstock Green. Nathan Linton, Shaz Anwar and Manny Hammond were the men on target.

Colney Heath beat Oxhey Jets 3-0 – as Dan Westmore scored direct from a corner – and Arlesey Town lost 4-1 at Crawley Green.

In Friday night's game, Biggleswad­e United won 2-1 at Potton United as goals from Tony Williams and Sam Holmes kept the visitors in fourth spot.

LEICESTER Nirvana from basement club Wellingbor­ough Whitworth with a resounding 5-0 victory thanks to two goals from Chris Anastasi and one each for Harry Allcock, Connor BrownWingf­ield and Sulieman Nassor.

Fazel Koriya, Charlie Evans and Dominic Perkins were on target for second-placed Rugby Town in their 30 win over Oadby Town as Pinchbeck United won 4-1 at Sleaford Town with goals from Harry Limb, Fraser Bayliss, Jack Smith and a Lee Beeson penalty.

An injury-time header from Sam Mooney gave Deeping Rangers a 1-0 returned win over Holbeach United while Nathan Burrows scored the only goal as Northampto­n ON Chenecks beat Harborough Town.

Rothwell Corinthian­s were held to a 1-1 draw by Newport Pagnell Town and Peterborou­gh Northern Star drew 0-0 with Wellingbor­ough Town.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

FOUR matches in the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy and one in the Errington League Cup were on the schedule.

On Friday night Sporting Bengal United snatched a 4-2 win at Harlow Town Reserves, Steven Carvell scoring one and setting up two. Kaleem Luthra, Bobby Redwood and Jason NW-Ngandu got the first three.

Tim Strike and Romain DoRogerio netted for Harlow.

Alex Caithline and Lamarr Douglas were Ilford’s marksmen in their 2-1 home win over Clapton, for whom Leon Lewis had equalised.

Carl Patten bagged a hat-trick for Barkingsid­e Reserves as they saw off Southend Manor 5-1 as Tower Hamlets were comfortabl­e 4-1 winners against Grays Athletic Reserves.

In the Errington Cup, Hoddesdon got a double from Joss Lillis as they beat Hullbridge Sports 5-1.

JAKE Baxter scored four goals and Dale Binns one as Chertsey Town reinforced their lead at the top of the table with a 5-0 win over Knaphill.

Nemo Adams, Kyen Nicholas and Eli Ogunseye were on target for Guildford City, who beat Horley Town 3-1.

CB Hounslow United fought back from a 2-0 interval deficit to win 3-2 at Abbey Rangers and Bernie Tanner marked his return from injury by opening the scoring for Hanworth Villa at Banstead Athletic, with Scott Walker grabbing a second for a 2-1 win.

Nathan Lewis scored the only goal of the game as Raynes Park Vale edged Cobham, while Tom Neale, Adam Bernard and Joe Dyett netted for hosts Spelthorne Sports in their 3-0 win over Walton & Hersham.

Camberley Town beat Badshot Lea 2-1, Sutton Common Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw at Redhill and Southall drew 1-1 AFC Hayes.

GODMANCHES­TER Rovers remain top despite being held to a goalless draw at Norwich United.

Histon were unable to take advantage as they drew 2-2 with Walshamle-Willows but Stowmarket Town in third are just a point behind the leaders after a 2-0 win over Newmarket Town and Kirkley & Pakefield are up to fourth after beating Thetford Town 2-1.

Elsewhere, Joel Glover netted the winner for Great Yarmouth Town as they moved out of the bottom two with a 1-0 triumph away to Whitton United.

Callum Harvey and Kelsey Trotter were Woodbridge Town’s scorers in a 2-1 victory at bottom side Framlingha­m Town and Chris Skipper struck twice as Wroxham beat FC Clacton 3-1.

Ely City lost 3-1 to Haverhill Rovers, Gorleston were comfortabl­e 3-0 winners over Brantham Athletic and Long Melford’s clash with Hadleigh United ended in a 2-2 draw.

ASCOT United maintained their title challenge with 2-0 win over Longlevens thanks to goals from Louis Bouwers and Lugman Kassim.

Shrivenham won 3-0 at Abingdon United as Tom Ballard, Antonio Gerrish and Sam Oakwell scored and Bishops Cleeve returned from Reading City with a 3-1 win thanks to Elliott Kennedy’s double and one from Jack Watts, with Ousie Darboe responding.

A brace from Jack Dunmall, a solitary goal from Mark Flanagan and an own goal saw Wantage Town beat Lydney Town 4-1 and TJ Bohane’s stoppage-time goal earned Royal Wootton Bassett Town a 3-3 draw at Flackwell Heath after Nick Stanley and Matt Bennett had earlier been on target for Royal Wootton Bassett.

An 89th-minute George Gould equaliser saw Windsor snatch a 1-1 draw against visitors Tuffley Rovers, who had led through Warren Mann.

CHICHESTER City extended their advantage at the top to four points after a crushing 6-1 home win against struggling Arundel.

David Herbert netted twice with Josh Clack and Scott Jones also on target.

George Cousins struck a dramatic late winner for Broadbridg­e Heath as they downed Horsham YMCA 1-0 and Lee Robinson’s brace saw Newhaven beat lowly Eastbourne United 2-1.

Saltdean United suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Lancing and Crawley Down Gatwick ran out comfortabl­e 30 winners at home to Loxwood.

Daryl Wollers’ 87th-minute equaliser rescued a point for Pagham in a 2-2 draw at East Preston, Liam Benson’s goal gave Hassocks a 1-0 win over Shoreham and it was Peacehaven & Telscombe 2-2 Eastbourne Town.

Elsewhere, Langney Wanderers lost 3-1 to Lingfield and AFC Uckfield Town beat Little Common 2-0.

FISHER go into the New Year top after coming from a goal down to beat AFC Croydon Athletic 2-1.

Bankole Karoma gave the Rams a first-half lead but second-half goals from Richie Hamill and Mudiagha Wanogho turned the game around.

Beckenham Town briefly topped the table after they won 2-0 in an early kick-off at Croydon, with Callum McGeehan and Sahmeek Farrell scoring.

Kevin Lisbie netted a hat-trick as Cray Valley won 5-3 at Glebe, as Jack Holland and Jack Billings goals saw Corinthian edge Punjab United 2-1.

K Sports beat Bearsted 2-1 with Jason Perry and Sam Stace on target.

Rusthall almost got a second league win as Charlie Clover put them ahead against Erith Town but a Louis Valencia stunner earned a 1-1 draw, Deal Town and Canterbury City also drew 1-1, as Sheppey United, Chatham Town and Tunbridge Wells all won.

A STUNNING Eddy Birch strike early in the second half helped Barton Town to a 2-1 home win over title hopefuls Penistone Church.

Birch also set up Danny Chambers’ opener before Sam Scrivens levelled.

That Penistone defeat allowed leaders Yorkshire Amateur to open up a seven-point gap at the top following their 1-0 defeat of Handsworth Parramore, an 82nd-minute penalty from Ashley Flynn securing the points.

A Jordan Turner hat-trick inspired Maltby Main to a 4-0 win at home to Goole, while Chris Fairhurst netted a last-minute winner as Albion Sports edged out Hall Road Rangers 2-1.

Aiden Salmons struck Athersley Rec’s winner in their 3-2 defeat of Thackley as Hemsworth MW beat Staveley MW 1-0, Bottesford Town drew 1-1 at Harrogate RA and Worksop Town, Bridlingto­n Town and Eccleshill United all triumphed.

■ ILKESTON Town’s lead at the top is down to just a single point as their torrid run continued with a 1-1 draw at Stourport Swifts. Elliot Reeves looked to have steered the Robins to a first win in four on 88 minutes but Nick MacPherson scrambled an injury-time equaliser. Nearest challenger­s Walsall Wood took full advantage, romping to a 3-0 win at home to a Long Eaton United side who played more than half the game with ten men after Mason Rowley’s dismissal. Joey Butlin, Mitch Tolley and Javia Roberts all netted. Two Matt Melbourne goals helped Shepshed Dynamo cruise to a 4-2 win at Wolverhamp­ton SC, as Worcester City were convincing 2-0 winners at Coventry United and South Normanton Athletic beat Dunkirk 3-0.
