WARRINGTON Town achieved their sixth straight victory, coming from behind to win a five-goal thriller against Basford United.

Matt Thornhill gave Basford an eighth-minute lead, glancing home a header from a corner, but Town hit straight back, Ben Garrity’s low rightfoote­d drive finding the corner of the net.

Town were next to feature, Tony Gray's header going wide fr followed by Jack Dunn’s deflected shot that was turned away by home keeper Kieran Preston.

Gray gave Warrington the lead, turning home a right-wing cross, only for Basford to equalise four minutes later, James Reid firing home a penalty following a foul on Basford captain Stef Galinksi.

The second half continued to be an open game but the deciding goal of the match arrived in the 62nd minute.

Garrity met a corner at the near post and his header hit the far upright and went in.

Basford pushed hard for an equaliser but received a blow in the 77th minute when Cieron Keane was shown a straight red card after a foul, Keane being the last man.

And the final goals coring opportunit­y of the game was created by Warrington as substitute Bohan Dixon came off the bench and saw his powerful shot well-saved by keeper Preston following a well-constructe­d move involving Robbie Evans and Dunn in added time.
