DRAW PUTS MAGPIES IN DREADED DROP ZONE

- By Terry Spracklen

DORCHESTER TOWN 0 GOSPORT BOROUGH 0 DORCHESTER slipped into the relegation zone despite picking up a point in a stalemate.

Antonio Diaz turned quickly but fired a fifthminute shot wide for Dorchester whilst sprawling ex-Magpies Tony Lee had penalty claims waved aside.

Noah Keats, on his home debut, headed over from a Tom Blair centre, while Lee did likewise as he met a George Barker corner.

Ben Seymour did well to prevent a ball running out of play, then tried his luck from an acute angle, but Patrick O’Flaherty reacted superbly. From the ensuing Keats corner, Seymour glanced wide.

Another Keats corner was met by Ross Carmichael, whose header was cleared.

Lee then fired wide while Seymour headed over.

Ten minutes after the break, Billy Lowes was denied by O’Flaherty.

At the other end, Lee fired wide and Charlie Davis cleared the crossbar.

There was late drama when a scuffle broke out, culminating in a caution for Dorchester skipper Neil Martin, but a second yellow card for Lee.

Ten-man Gosport held out for their point, although Dorchester went close when Lowes fired just over and Diaz met a Luke Winsper centre but fired straight at O’Flaherty. STAR MAN: Neil Martin (Dorch) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
