TIVIDALE took a giant stride towards winning the league title with a 6-0 success over Shifnal Town while closest rivals Haughmond suffered a shock 4-1 home defeat to Malvern Town.

Alvechurch loanee Luke Yates netted twice with Jordan Uppal and Joe Butler also on target as they clinched a 4-0 win over Smethwick Rangers.

Haughmond found themselves 2-0 down against Malvern inside eight minutes as Adam Sauntson and Harry Clark converted chances.

Kev Renshaw clawed a goal back for Haughmond but Malvern made sure of success through a couple of second half strikes from George Hayes. Wednesfiel­d pulled off a 4-2 win at AFC Bridgnorth, while Dudley Town continue their climb up the table with a 3-2 win over Hereford Lads. Neighbours Dudley Sports eased worries with a 2-0 win over Wellington. NICK PULLEN

EAST MIDLANDS LEAGUE

SELSTON extended their lead at the top to three points as goals from Carl Moore and Scott Taylor gave them a 2-0 victory at Ashby Ivanhoe. The sides in second and third,

Newark Flowserve and Sherwood Colliery shared a 1-1 draw, Tim Gregory with a late equaliser for Sherwood after Tom Pott’s free-kick put Newark ahead.

Brad Holmes scored a late winner as Rainworth Miners Welfare belied their lowly position to beat Radford 32, whilst Barrow Town in were held 00 at Gedling Miners Welfare. Ingles came from 2-0 to beat Clifton All Whites 3-2, while James Rushby and Josh Wright were on target as Belper beat Clipstone 2-0.

Kimberley Miners Welfare came back from two down to claim a 2-2 draw at Eastwood Community.
