BIG BEN STRIKES TO SNATCH A LATE DRAW

AN EIGHT-goal thriller saw Hednesford Town and Nantwich Town share the points as the visitors twice fought from two goals down.

After an opening half that saw both sides have chances it was the hosts that struck first in the 37th minute when Dan Sweeney picked out Kieran Wells, who headed home.

Hednesford doubled their lead five minutes into the second half when Sweeney was taken down in the penalty area and the striker fired home from 12 yards out.

Within two minutes, Nantwich were back in it when Jamie Morgan finished low past Kieran Preston. The home side restored their two-goal lead in the 57th minute as Sweeney cut inside before firing a left-footed effort home via the crossbar.

Nantwich reduced the arrears when striker Danny Glover raced clear before firing home from the edge of the box.

The visitors equalised in the 75th minute when a corner was initially cleared off the line before Joseph Malkin was able to rifle the ball into the the net.

In the 82nd minute, Nantwich went ahead for the first time when a corner found Matthew Bell, whowas able to slot home at the back post.

The hosts wouldn’t be outdone though as Ben O’Hanlon rose highest to head the ball into the net to level a pulsating game.
