HOUSE AN IMMOVABLE OBJECT FOR BLUEBIRDS

- By Will Hulbert

CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 ST ALBANS CITY 0

STRONG winds battering Britain ensured this game produced few clear-cut chances as flowing football proved difficult as Chippenham played out their first goalless draw of the season.

The Bluebirds had the better of the first half although on-loan West Bromwich Albion keeper Brad House, returning for his second loan this season, pulled off the save of the half as he denied Ben Wyatt.

Karnell Chambers had three first-half chances for the home side, the best seeing him run on to Kieran Parselle’s through pass but the ball got stuck under his feet and Saints keeper Dean Snedker was able to come out and grab the ball.

Chippenham’s Josh Smile and Rhys Davies tried their luck from distance but to no avail. After the break Saints’ Sam Merson fired into the side netting while House again excelled as he parried Solomon Sambou’s fierce shot.

A quarter of an hour from time the game was held up for several minutes as Zane Banton was stretchered off with a leg injury.

Both sides had late chances with Parselle’s header at a corner hitting Snedker and Bluebird sub Nick McCootie firing wide.

In stoppage time Saints’ Tom Bender had a chance at a corner but volleyed across goal. STAR MAN: Brad House (Chippenham) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
