MURRAY’S THE STAR AS CROWS WIN AWAY

- By Jamie Home

BEDWORTH UNITED 1 ROYSTON TOWN 2

ADAM Murray’s closerange finish 13 minutes from time gave Royston a hard-fought win.

The visitors controlled the first half and went ahead on 13 minutes. Joseph Neal helped the ball forward for Tom Knowles, who cut in and smashed a low shot through a crowded area that flew in past Adam Harrison.

Bedworth almost levelled when Luke Rowe’s free-kick was headed against the bar by Iyseden Christie.

The hosts took advantage ten minutes after the restart. Rowe’s ball forward deflected for a corner and Alex Troke showed great out-of-thebox thinking as he raced to take the kick and crossed perfectly for Christie to head in.

Moments later Christie slipped by James Hancocks but took to long to shoot and it was saved.

Royston brought on Josh Castliglione and he went close with a drive which Harrison did well to divert for a corner.

He was involved again in the game’s decisive moment, getting in on the right and squaring for Murray to force the ball home from eight yards.

As United pushed in search of an equaliser Royston’s Luke Knight was fortunate to escape with just a caution for a lunging two-footed tackle on Ryan Baldwin but the visitors hung on to take the points. STAR MAN: Tom Knowles (Roys) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
