TAMWORTH DELIVER A FOUR-GOAL SHOWING

- By Matt Panter

TAMWORTH 4 BANBURY UNITED 0

TAMWORTH cruised to a sixth win in seven league games.

The game was won by half-time as they blew away Banbury.

Tyrell Waite hooked an effort wide before opening the scoring on 13 minutes.

Banbury responded and skipper Ricky Johnson flashed a header wide.

But the Lambs doubled their lead on 24 minutes through Waite.

It was game over on 27 minutes as Chris Lait latched onto a pass from Jordan Clement and slotted home from a tight angle.

Ravin Shamsi and Lait traded chances as Tamworth went into the break with a comfortable lead.

Guiseppe Iaciofano saw a header saved by Jas Singh after the break while Lait was denied by the impressive Jack Harding.

The visitors were improved and Iaciofano went close again but the second half was a quieter affair with Tamworth well in control.

The Lambs added further gloss to their victory late on as sub Anthony Dwyer converted from close range after Joe Magunda had fired Beswick’s corner back into the danger zone of the penalty area.

Shamsi was denied a late consolation for the Puritans as Tamworth keeper Singh pulled off a superb save. STAR MAN: Charlie Shaw (Tam) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
