WORMAN DOUBLE DOES FOR HARINGEY

- By Graeme Auger

BISHOP’S S’FORD 2 HARINGEY BOROUGH 0

BEN WORMAN’S brace gave Bishop’s Stortford their first league win in over a month, against a below-par Haringey Borough.

It was a scrappy tussle at times although the hosts always appeared to have edge against second-placed Boro’.

Striker Kudus Oyenuga went close for the visitors in the 14th minute before Luke Callander struck the bar for the Blues with a freekick from 20 yards.

Callander then missed another good chance.

But four minutes before the break, Stortford led when Worman collected the ball just outside the box, after Joel Nouble lost possession, and beat Boro’ keeper Valery Pajetet with a low left-foot effort.

On the restart Jack Thomas made a good block to deny Georgios Aresti.

Whilst keeper Arthur Janata saved well from a corner following Oyenuga’s cut inside and shot from the right.

Then in the 72nd minute Worman picked up a pass from Jamie Cureton on the left flank and fired a superb shot over Pajetet into the far corner.

Boro’ sub Coby Rowe went close with a shot and a header and Oyenuga hit the post after a solo run in the last ten minutes

But Stortford held on to take the points. STAR MAN: Ben Worman (Bishop’s Stortford) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
