SEAN MARKS’ 79thminute goal was enough for AFC Hornchurch to seal the narrowest of victories in Hertfordshire.

Playing with the strong wind in the first half the visitors camped themselves in the Scholars’ half.

But they were restricted to long range efforts by a disciplined defensive performance from Potters Bar and failed to take the expected advantage.

The home side were forced to reorganise just before half-time as joint manager centre half Lee O’Leary was stretchered from the pitch following a goal-line challenge with Charlie Stimson.

But despite having the majority of possession it was the visitors who took the lead.
