BRENNAN QUITS AS KS CRASH

- By Mark Murphy

KINGSTONIAN 2 BURGESS HILL TOWN 3

BURGESS HILL are still in with a survival shout after a deserved win over an atrocious Kingstonian led to Ks boss Dean Brennan leaving the club after just over a month in charge.

Tommy Wood’s turn and right-foot shot from Dan Beck’s pass on 80 minutes was the winner. But Hill could have led earlier.

And Ks have now lost to the bottom three over the last three Saturdays, a run which has brought Dubliner Brennan’s short managerial spell to an end.

A gale-assisted Ks fashioned nothing of note until Dan Spence’s 32rd-minute right-foot drive was athletically tipped over by Hillians keeper Mitchell Bromage.

Ross Murdoch fired two fine chances straight at Ks keeper Rob Tolfrey before Ks took a 39th-minute lead, Nathan Minhas supplying a low right-foot finish to Ks first decent move.

Hill levelled on 43 minutes, Murdoch side-footing home Aaron SmithJoseph’s low cross.

But Ks led in stoppagetime, James Kaloczi bundling home an in-swinging corner.

Hill levelled again on 59 minutes, an unmarked Murdoch heading home Michael Wilson’s corner.

But the Hillians nearly led on 78 minutes, SmithJoseph’s shot hitting the post and rebounding straight to Tolfrey. And they only had to wait two minutes for the winner, holding on easily to their lead. STAR MAN: Ross Murdoch (Burgess Hill Town) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
