MO TO GO FAR PREDICTS LEESE,

- By Jon Batham

ENFIELD boss Andy Leese admits he’ll have to get used to Mo Faal attracting admirers after the striker’s latest double helped Town beat Cheshunt in the A10 derby.

In front of scouts from QPR and Stevenage, the hosts’ hot-shot took his tally for the season to 12 to seal a sixth league win in a row.

Leese knows it may be a case of when, not if, the striker moves on to bigger things.

He told The NLP: “I hear every week about clubs watching Mo, he will catch the eye with the amount of goals he’s scoring.

“It doesn’t matter if we play him centrally or wide, he’s in the goals and he showed again today how instinctive he is.”

The visitors spurned a golden early chance when Mo Camara, given the freedom of the penalty area, planted his header into the arms of Nathan McDonald.

Faal was soon in the action, forcing a smart save from Ambers keeper Harry Girling after good work from Jonathan Muleba down the right.

It proved a dress rehearsal for the opening goal on the half-hour when Ken Charles’ trickery down the left presented Faal with another sight of goal and he got enough on it to find the net.

Cheshunt were level seconds after half-time when Daniel Akindayini sprung the offside trap and his cross deflected in off Town skipper Mark Weatherstone.

But the visiting fans had barely finished celebrating when Faal restored the lead, stabbing home a rebound after Girling parried Ryan Blackman’s long-range strike.

Victory should have been more emphatic, Charles heading over a gaping goal, while Girling denied Bobson Bawling and sub Billy Bricknell before palming Blackman’s corner onto the bar.

Cheshunt boss Craig Edwards felt his injury-ravaged side battled hard without reward.

“There’s no two ways about it we’re struggling at the moment,” he said.

“We picked our strongest side on Thursday and we’ve got eight of them out; that’s how it has been for most of the season.

“The only real disappointment for me was getting an equaliser early in the second half and conceding almost immediately.”
