The Non-League Football Paper

SIX OF THE BEST BID FOR £100K DEAL

- By David Richardson

SIX Non-League clubs are in with a chance to win a share of the Buildbase £100k Transfer Deal 2019 to renovate their facilities.

The shortlist includes three clubs who have competed in the Buildbase FA Vase, Stowmarket Town, Bridlington Town and Cottesmore Amateurs S&S, and three from the Buildbase FA Trophy in Barton Rovers, Basford United and Hendon.

The clubs will pitch their renovation plans to a panel of judges at Wembley on Monday, December 9.

Two winning clubs will each walk away with a £25,000 product bursary, which includes building, electrical and hire products to use on their club facilities.

Earlier this year, Weymouth and Barnoldswick Town scooped the prizes for their excellent presentations.

Weymouth’s pitch focused on improving facilities at the Bob Lucas Stadium for disabled supporters, creating a more inclusive experience for everyone in the local community.

Barnoldswick were committed to improving access to the club’s facilities, including redecorating the clubhouse with new carpets, bar and furniture.

Judges from Buildbase and the FA will be looking for the six clubs to demonstrate how feasible their renovation plans are as well as how far they go to benefit the club and fans, plus the wider community.

Clubs have been working with local Buildbase branches to plan and cost out their projects from enhancing the spectator standing area at Stowmarket to creating a professional kitchen at Hendon.

Paul Roche, managing director of Buildbase, said: “Many Non-League clubs desperately need support to improve their facilities and every year we’re inspired by their passion and vision. It’s a competitive programme and those shortlisted have done exceptionally well to get this far. We look forward to hearing more about their projects at Wembley.”
