TWELVE OF BEST AS TNS EYE TOP SPOT

- By Carl Field

THE NEW SAINTS wrote themselves into the record books once again yesterday as they stuck a dozen past ten-man Airbus UK Broughton without reply.

The champions ran riot 12-0 in Flintshire to set a new JD Cymru Premier league record for an away win – having already equalled it when they won 10-1 at Aberystwyth Town back on August 26.

Meanwhile the result at Airbus was also a record-equalling all-time league win, matching the feat of Barry Town against Cemaes Bay in 1998.

Two goals for Adrian Cieslewicz plus one each for Blaine Hudson, Ryan Brobbel and Aeron Edwards put them 5-0 up after a first half that also saw Airbus’ Jake Phillips sent off.

Leading marksman Greg Draper then came off the bench to bag himself a second-half hattrick to move to 13 goals for the season.

Cieslewicz also completed his treble, Brobbel and Edwards both netted again before sub Kurtis Byrne completed the scoring on 79 minutes.

TNS, chasing a ninth consecutive title, will return to the summit if they win their game in hand against bottom side Carmarthen Town at Park Hall on Tuesday night. Leaders Connah’s Quay

Nomads had to settle for a point after a 0-0 draw at Penybont and, although they remain unbeaten, saw their lead cut to two points.

Bala Town are up into third after they returned from

Carmarthen with a 3-0 win. Louis Robles put the Lakesiders ahead on the stroke of half time before Henry Jones found the net twice in the second half.

Elsewhere Barry slip to fourth after going down 1-0 at home to

Newtown – also their fourth defeat in five. Ian Sheridan’s 82nd-minute goal proved to be decisive. Cefn Druids came from behind to win 3-1 at Aberystwyth.

And goals in each half from Cai Jones and Nathan Craig steered Caernarfon Town to a 2-1 win over Cardiff Met.

Tim Hicks was at the double to send JD Cymru South leaders Haverfordwest County to a 2-0 victory at Caerau Ely. Swansea University beat Cwmbran Celtic 2-1 thanks to goals from Will Toms and Hugo Cowan.

Prestatyn Town’s lead over Flint Town United at the top of JD Cymru North is now down to just two points after being held 1-1 at Guilsfield.

The Seasiders took a 33rd minute lead through Danny Davies but the Gulls were level just a minute later through Jolyon Harries.

Meanwhile Callum Bratley’s second-minute effort proved to be the difference for Flint as they won 1-0 at Rhyl to make it seven straight league wins.
