- By Jon Couch

AN 88TH-MINUTE penalty from David Bremang earned Nuneaton Borough a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Tamworth which cut the Lambs’ lead at the top of the Southern Premier Central to two points.

Two Ryan Beswick penalties overturned Luke Benbow’s opener for Nuneaton in front of 1,326 at The Lamb, only for Tyrell Waite to put Tamworth 3-1 in front. But a goal back from Joel Kettle and Bremang’s late leveller restored parity.

Bromsgrove Sporting and Banbury United kept up the charge, two points adrift, with impressive 4-1 and 5-0 victories over Alvechurch and Stratford Town respectively.

The top two clashed in Premier South at Treyew Road where a last-gasp equaliser NINE minutes into time added on from Adel Gafaiti earned Truro City a 3-3 draw over title rivals Tiverton Town, who stay top on goal difference.

Chesham United cut the lead at the top to two points with a thumping 6-1 win at Walton Casuals courtesy of two goals apiece for Karl Oliyide and Bradley Clayton.

Corby Town stay five points clear at the top of Division One Central with a 3-0 win at lowly Yaxley thanks to two first-half goals from Ryan Robbins and a Gregory Ling strike.

Second-place Berkhamsted kept up the pace with Lewis Toomey earning a 1-0 win at AFC Dunstable, while Halesowen Town, in third, were held to a 1-1 draw at Coleshill Town.

In Division One South, Thatcham Town are in pole position after they saw off fifth-placed Winchester City 2-1 in a tense affair at the Stacatruc Stadium.

They went top after Frome Town and Paulton Rovers crashed 4-1 and 3-1 to Melksham Town and Mangotsfield United respectively.
