ROBINS HELP FEED MATT’S FOOTBALL FIX

-

ALTRINCHAM came to the rescue of American fan Matt Renninger after his dream visit to Manchester City was postponed due to Storm Ciara.

The City supporters had flown from Rhode Island in America with his wife Missy at a cost of £3,000 to finally watch Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium against West Ham last Sunday.

Their visit would have been football-less had it not been for Alty and their clash with Kettering Town.

“I wanted to take in a lower-tier game to really have the experience of the intimacy of small grounds and passionate local supporters,” Renninger told The Sportsman. “As it happened both goals went in at our end and we loved it!”

Altrincham then gifted a home shirt to the couple after hearing about their desperately bad luck.

SALISBURY are appealing for votes to have their Ray Mac Stadium included on the upcoming Monopoly Salisbury Edition.

The popular board game will be producing a new version for the city ready for Christmas this year with all the leading landmarks in the area, like the Cathedral and Stonehenge, replacing the traditional board locations of Mayfair and Oxford Street.

The BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South are urging supporters to vote for their home by commenting “The Ray Mac – Home of Salisbury FC” on the Facebook Group ‘Salisbury Monopoly’, by email to salisbury@winningmoves.co.uk or by letter at Salisbury MONOPOLY, Winning Moves UK, 7 Praed Street, London W2 1NJ. Polling closes at 23.59 pm on Wednesday February 26.
