TERRORS DELIGHT AT £10K FUNDING ADVANCE

- By Neil Harvey

CHAIRPERSON Caroline McRoyall says she has been “overwhelmed” by a collective effort of the community in helping to raise over £10,000 for Tooting & Mitcham United. The Terrors’ crowdfunding campaign closed this week with the total topping £10,070.00 thanks to the generous donations of its supporters, the local community and club sponsors.

The amount was boosted by a sponsored run around the pitch on one of the hottest days of the year at Imperial Fields by joint first-team managers Cornelius Nwadialor and Ashley Bosah and coach Myles Warren.

Donations over the last four weeks since the campaign was launched consisted of various amounts from £5 to £500, with the average donation being £42.

The total sum raised includes £1,900 of sponsorship packages at the Isthmian South Central club, including six mascot packages, eight for match day sponsorship and two purchasing the ‘Friend of T&MUFC package’ for a £500 sum.

The money will be divided evenly across all areas of the club with contributions going towards the recent pitch works carried out and general facility improvements to assist with the safe reopening of the premises.

Nwadialor and Bosah will also receive a sum towards the first-team budget with the club’s thriving youth sections also benefitting.

McRoyall said: “We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our supporters, many of whom have donated more than once to the campaign.

“The money will help the club so much during this time and when we are able to reopen safely. We look forward to seeing you all at Imperial Fields soon.”

The Terrors lie eighth in the South Central table – and on the verge of the play-offs – when the season was halted.
