Stockport starlet lands big move to the Championship
STOCKPORT County defender Festus Arthur has landed a dream move to Championship club Hull City for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old, who was born in Hamburg and is of Ghanaian descent, has penned a three-year deal with an option of a further year.
Arthur has been a regular for the Hatters in the National League this season at centre-back or in midfield, making 32 appearances and scoring two goals as they narrowly missed out on the playoffs.
“I’m very happy to be a Hull City player,” he said, with the deal also including future success payments to Stockport. “It’s something that’s been going on for a while now and I’m just excited to finally join the club.
“I’ve had a good chat with the gaffer and I like him as a person. I’m looking forward to working with him and getting to know my new teammates. I just can’t wait to get going.”
Meanwhile, Stockport midfielder Elliot Osborne has decided to join Stevenage following the expiration of his contract.
