JERSEY Bulls have unveiled their first patron – the island’s Lieutenant-Governor, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton.

The retired RAF commander, who became Jersey’s representative of the British monarch three years ago, was guest of honour at the team’s last home game in Combined Counties Division One – a 2-0 home win over British Airways on March 7.

Following the asnnouncement n Thursday, Bulls chairman Russell Le Feuvre said:

“We wanted to appoint a patron and spoke to His Excellency at our last game and he was keen. We believe that it is great news for the whole club and its supporters.”

Denied promotion in Step 5 in their first season despite winning 27 out of 27 league games before the FA declared the season null and void, they are now aiming to do it all over again next season.

Sir Stephen said: “Their achievements over the last year have been a real beacon for Jersey.”
