The Non-League Football Paper

OUR NORMAL SERVICE IS SET TO RESUME...

-

TODAY’S NLP is issue 18 since Covid-19 brought the Non-League game to a shuddering halt.

In the four-and-a-half months without football since, we’ve aimed to bring you a wide range of articles each week. From the latest news on football’s return, debates around the stark issues facing the game at these levels, to general stories and nostalgic interviews.

In a worrying, and often sad, time for the country, we hope you have enjoyed your weekly dose of escapism.

The team have certainly enjoyed putting it together, all working remotely from home, and we’re grateful to all those who have contributed and sent us messages of support. We’ve greatly appreciated it.

Of course, football has returned in some form this weekend with the National League play-offs – although it won’t really feel like football is back until next season kicks off at all levels with crowds on the terraces.

In order to produce The NLP these past 18 weeks, we had to reorganise our staffing levels in the office as well as our print deadlines.

For that reason it means we are unable to include a report from yesterday’s National League Eliminator between Yeovil Town and Barnet. We thank you for your understanding and can reassure you this is a one-off and we are returning to normal. From next Saturday we will be back to our usual Saturday production capacity and will carry reports from all six National League play-off semi-finals. We’re looking forward to the busy hum of The NLP’s office on a Saturday night again.

In the meantime, our senior writer David Richardson was at Huish Park yesterday as the Glovers took on the Bees. For those interested in reading what happened, we have an extensive match report on our website www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com
