‘ALL-TIME LOW’ HAS FORCED CHIEF IN TO ACTION

- By Jon Couch

EMBARRASSED Tony Kleanthous reflected on his “all-time low” as chairman of Barnet – and has set about addressing the club’s alarming slide.

The Bees slumped to the bottom of the National League table on Tuesday night after a disappointing 3-1 defeat at previous incumbents Dover Athletic.

In a statement released the following day, Kleanthous spoke of some “radical changes” being proposed at The Hive, including the imminent arrival of FIVE new players, including three centre-backs and striker.

Indeed, Bees boss Tim Flowers wasted no time in bolstering up his front line by bringing in striker Courtney Baker-Richardson on loan from Barrow until the end of the season.

The former Coventry City youngster earned a move to then-Premier League Swansea City in 2017 after an impressive spell at Leamington.

Yeovil Town boss Darren Sarll has got his man in centre-back Max Hunt.

The 21-year-old former Matlock Town and Derby County prospect linked up with the Glovers on loan from Carlisle United back in December but has now signed permanently until the end of next season.

Hereford say they have waivered a seven-day notice period to allow experienced midfielder Giles Coke another crack at the Football League.

The 34-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton and Ipswich Town man dropped down into National League South with Hereford back in September but has been given the green light to train with League Two side Grimsby Town.

Manager Josh Gowling, who also revealed he has rejected an offer for striker Lennell John Lewis, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for him to return to the Football League, and an opportunity that we would not want to stand in the way of.”
