GAFFER DARYL SECURES DAGGERS FUTURE

- By Neil Harvey

DAGENHAM & Redbridge boss Daryl McMahon believes his side can get even better as he signed an extension to his current deal.

The former Ebbsfleet United manager, assistant Steve Gritt and first team coach Dave Jupp have all penned contract extensions to June 2024.

Daggers have started the new season well, with five wins and a draw from their opening six games putting them top of the National League heading into the weekend.

McMahon, who took Fleet into the National League play-offs after winning promotion from National League South, said: “I’m delighted to extend my stay at the club. As soon as we sat down and spoke about it in the summer it was something that we wanted to get done pretty quickly.

“We’re settled here and

we believe in the team we’ve got. We’re moving forward and building the club up from the bottom, and we feel like we’ve made good strides over the past 18-months when you look at where we were then compared to where we are now.

“We’re looking forward to watching the team continue to grow, improve, and move forward.

“My personal beliefs and values are shared by the club and the board, and as one we want to continue developing the club, and we’re very excited to do so.”

Executive chairman Peter B. Freund says the club are delighted to tie down their man and his staff.

He told the club’s website: “Daryl’s commitment to winning and creating a positive culture at the club aligns perfectly with our ownership group and I am thrilled that he has agreed to a new contract.

“Having a coach this passionate and strategic is critical for us as we look to take the next step and return to the Football League.”
