The Non-League Football Paper

VOTE YOUR CUP NO.1’S

- By Phil Annets

THE FA CupFactfile Team Awards (FACTAs) are the only annual awards that recognise the achievements and contributions of Non-League clubs in the FA Cup and are nominated by fans of Non-League football.

Voting for this season’s FACTAs is now live and can be done via the pinned tweet of @FACupFactfile on Twitter.

There are four FACTA categories this season. The top award is ‘The Team of the FA Cup’ FACTA and is contested by four clubs that have excelled in this season’s competition – Boreham Wood, Kidderminster Harriers, Stamford and Yeovil Town.

Eight clubs are up for the ‘Performance of the FA Cup’ FACTA having achieved a one-off outstanding result in this year’s competition. They are Bedfont Sports, Boreham Wood, Jersey Bulls, Kidderminster Harriers, Little Common, Marske United, St Albans City and Stockport County.

Impact

The ‘Surprise of the FA Cup’ FACTA recognises those clubs that have overachieved in the FA Cup this season. The nominees are AFC Sudbury (lowest ranked club in first round), Jersey Bulls (made the third qualifying round in their debut season), Pontefract Collieries (made the fourth qualifying round for first time) and Stratford Town (made first round for first time in their 41st campaign).

The final FACTA is a special one-off to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the FA Cup and attempts to identify the Non-League club with the biggest impact on the competition over its lifetime. The eight clubs in contention are Altrincham, Blyth Spartans, Hereford United, Sutton United, Telford United, Wimbledon, Woking and Yeovil Town.

The winners of the FACTAs will be determined by a combination of fan votes and the expert panellist votes of Tim Fuell (NonLeague Show presenter), Matt Badcock (NLP editor), Caroline Barker (Sky presenter), Ollie Bayliss (BBC 3CR presenter) and Phil Annets (founder of FACupFactfile).

Winners will be announced on Friday January 21 via @FACupFactfile on Twitter. Vote now.
