I’ll be there for you: ‘Boom Town’ friends are reunited

SHRIEKS and cuddles filled the air at the Glen Hotel in Oban on Saturday night as childhood friends were reunited, for some after a gap of more than 50 years.

The Dunstaffnage and Dunbeg reunion was organised by Shirley Inglis of Dunbeg and Vary Ferguson of Dunstaffnage.

Shirley undertook the challenge because of her interest in the history of the village, while Vary, who is a child of ‘Boom Town’, helped get everyone together for one special night.

And the Oban Times was invited along to see first-hand the reunion of some very special childhood friends.
