Birthday bash is just what the town needs, says mum
WALKING up the hill to the Scottish Autism Oban’s 10th birthday party at Ganavan shinty pitch, a mother of two was fulsome in her praise.
Oban woman, Colleen Campbell, said: ‘This is a great. Everything is free and the kids can play as long as they like. We need more things like this in Oban.’
Hundreds of children and parents had turned out to celebrate the work of the Oban charity. Scottish Autism Oban works with a small number of children, providing a supportive environment for children to develop skills and build confidence.
Party planner and outreach worker, Pamela Anderson, said: ‘Our aim is to make the lives of the children we support more fulfilled and enriched.
‘We meet in the Lorne Resource Centre on a Saturday morning.’
