Cali serves memorial cup success

A BALLACHULISH primary school pupil has received an award for endeavour.

Cali Donald, primary five, is the first child at the school to receive the Nana MacInnes memorial cup since its inception earlier this year.

The award was created in memory of the dinner lady, who worked at both Ballachulish and Duror schools for 15 years and a pupil from one of the schools will be chosen every year in her honour.

Mrs MacInnes passed away in October last year.

John MacInnes, the oldest child of the late Ms MacInnes, said of the trophy: ‘ We feel as a family, this is one of the last things we can do for our mum, ensuring her memory and attachment to the schools will live on, and that in the years to come when pupils ask who was Nana MacInnes, the story of the wee cheery dinner lady will re- emerge.’
