Saints appoint Iain Jackson as honorary club president

AS a thank you for all his years of dedicated work as manager, Oban Saints have made Iain Jackson its honorary club president.

Iain was in charge of team affairs for 20 very successful years winning three league championsh­ips while in charge at the club - Premier Division Two in 1994, Premier Division One in 2002 and the Premier Division in 2010 and of course the Premier Division and Jimmy Marshall Cup double last season.

Iain also took the club to the last eight of the Scottish Amateur Cup on two occasions in 2007 and again in 2010. Club secretary David Buchanan said: ‘Iain has been a tremendous servant to the club and we felt he should be honoured in some way. He will always be a Saints man and now he as no excuses for not donning his Saints gear and coming to watch some of our games’.

Iain has been succeeded as team manager by Alex Craik.
