Saints ap­point Iain Jack­son as honorary club pres­i­dent

AS a thank you for all his years of ded­i­cated work as man­ager, Oban Saints have made Iain Jack­son its honorary club pres­i­dent.

Iain was in charge of team af­fairs for 20 very suc­cess­ful years win­ning three league cham­pi­onships while in charge at the club - Premier Di­vi­sion Two in 1994, Premier Di­vi­sion One in 2002 and the Premier Di­vi­sion in 2010 and of course the Premier Di­vi­sion and Jimmy Mar­shall Cup dou­ble last sea­son.

Iain also took the club to the last eight of the Scot­tish Am­a­teur Cup on two oc­ca­sions in 2007 and again in 2010. Club sec­re­tary David Buchanan said: ‘Iain has been a tremen­dous ser­vant to the club and we felt he should be hon­oured in some way. He will al­ways be a Saints man and now he as no ex­cuses for not don­ning his Saints gear and com­ing to watch some of our games’.

Iain has been suc­ceeded as team man­ager by Alex Craik.
