Last chance to pen a definitive song

-

BUDDING composers only have a few hours left to get an entry into the competition for a song to define this year’s Royal National Mòd, which will be held in Oban.

This can be a tune or a song and should capture the spirit of the Mòd. The piece should be submitted as a recording.

A manuscript version would be helpful, but is not necessary. All manuscripts should be handed in without the composer’s name to preserve anonymity.

The competition is open to people of all ages living in Argyll. All entries should be handed into Furan, the Gaelic centre at the Corran Halls in Oban. The closing date for entries is tomorrow, Friday July 31.

As a prize, the winning piece will be arranged and recorded by Finlay Wells at Nutshell Music, and will be featured in the Oban Times. There will also be a cash prize.
