Ski resort cooks up winning menu
A HIGHLAND ski resort has become the first of its kind to be recognised with a Taste Our Best award presented by VistScotland.
Nevis Range Mountain Gondola became the first ski resort in Scotland to win the award for its high quality eating experience.
Its hospitality, quality of the food and menu variety were all commended, as well as its use of Scottish produce.
Customers can sample menus at the resort all year round at the Pinemartin cafe bar and in the Snowgoose restaurant at the top of the mountain gondola on the slopes of Aonach Mor.
Nevis Range’s head chef, Will MacDonald, was the creator of the winning menu.
Marian Austin, managing director of Nevis Range, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have received this recognition from Visit Scotland. A large number of overseas visitors, as well as many from Scotland and the UK, visit this area, known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK, for a trip on the mountain gondola, winter skiing as well as mountain biking and the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
‘We are committed to providing our customers with a unique mountain experience, and providing high quality and locally-sourced food is key to this effort.’
