Long-haired Josh takes the plunge for charity

-

A LONG-haired 11-year- old made a decision to trim his locks after a woman asked if he was a boy or a girl.

Dunbeg primary seven pupil Josh Brack decided to donate his hair to a charity that supports children with cancer.

His mum, Gail, explained: ‘Josh has had long hair for years but last week yet another older lady asked him if he was a girl or a boy.

‘He was quite upset and decided he would get it cut. Instead of wasting his hair, we checked through a cancer research website how to donate it for children with cancer.

‘It had to be freshly washed with no products, a minimum of seven inches long and cut off in bunches.’

Hairdresser Hayley Edwards at Rutherfords in Oban helped to wash and remove the hair by tying it into four pleats before cutting it off.

Gail and Josh then put the four pigtails in a clear sandwich bag and posted it off to the Little Princess Trust hair donation.
