Mu­sic feast at Port Ellen

THE AWARD-WIN­NING duo of Aly Bain and Phil Cun­ning­ham will be in con­cert in Port Ellen’s Ram­say Hall on Satur­day Septem­ber 6 as part of the Blas Fes­ti­val 2015 which runs through­out the High­lands and Is­lands from Septem­ber 4 to Septem­ber 12.

Also on stage with the Shet­land fid­dler and the Ed­in­burgh ace ac­cor­dion­ist will be the Lochaber multi-in­stru­men­tal­ist and singer Ewan Hen­der­son, a for­mer mem­ber of the Bat­tle­field Band and co-founder in 2010 of the in­creas­ingly pop­u­lar Gaelic group Màn­ran.

Shar­ing the Port Ellen plat­form with the vis­it­ing mu­si­cians will be the highly-tal­ented young­sters from the Fèis Òi­gridh Ìle ’s Dhiùra sta­ble who are guar­an­teed to keep up the tempo and join with the vis­it­ing per­form­ers in the fi­nale.

The Port Ellen gig kicks off at 7.30pm and among other is­lands in­cluded in the itin­er­ary of this year’s Blas Fes­ti­val are Mull and Skye.
