AT United Auc­tions’ sale of all classes of lambs and sheep at Dal­mally Auc­tion Mart on Satur­day Au­gust 29, an in­creased en­try of more than 800 head saw 3,126 lambs and sheep sold. Trade for all classes was firm, with a strong con­tin­gent of farm­ing buy­ers in at­ten­dance. Av­er­ages com­pared favourably to last year, lev­el­ling out at £42.33 against £44.64 at the cor­re­spond­ing sale last year. Again, lambs were for­ward from through­out main­land Ar­gyll, Perthshire, Lochaber and the is­lands of Lis­more, Colon­say, Bute and Barra.
