Craggy Island tri
THE CRAGGY island triathlon takes place this Saturday, with its unique course starting in Oban.
Contestants will swim 550m across the Sound of Kerrera, to start the cycle section. Around 14km long, the off-road mountain bike track is a combination of Land Rover and quad tracks, as well as paths, and is described by event organisers as ‘a bit hilly’.
This involves one lap of the island, a perfect warm-up for the 8km, off-road run.
After passing the highest point on the island, and passing the ruined Gylen Castle, entrants will return to the finish line at the ferry slip. For more information, contact Duncan MacEachan on 07900872588.
