Gloves are off at Claymores sparring day

-

MORE than 30 boxers and their coaches from all over Scotland travelled to Kinlochleven recently for a day of sparring with Claymores boxing club.

From ages 10 through to 40, male and female athletes with varying levels of experience took the opportunity on August 22 to test their skills against new opponents.

Martin Glenesk, head coach with Claymores, said: ‘The standard of sparring on show was first rate and everyone got a chance to spar a range of opponents and learn some valuable lessons ahead of the new season. We had five of our own boxers in the ring who have been training hard all summer. They all did me proud and I fully expect them to bring back some medals from the Scottish Novice Championships in October.’
