Choir quiz night

-

I HEAR Govan Gaelic Choir’s quiz night was great fun.

The choir, in particular, thanks Eila Handyside for making up the wide range of question papers.

The winners were ‘Na Tiriosdaich’ with Mairi MacArthur at the helm and the runners-up were ‘The Soothsiders’ with Stewart Moir as leader egging his team on.

The choir would like to thank everyone who contributed to an enjoyable, successful event.

Clydebank ceilidh

THE FIRST Clydebank ceilidh of the new session was a great success on Friday night.

Sheena Walker, Gordon McKeeve and Norman MacKinnon all gave Gaelic songs; Ann Hepburn sang in Scots; Fiona Johnston played the accordion; Ian MacPhee was the piper; Gordon Kinniburgh the accompanist and Neil Murray was in the chair.

There were healthy numbers in attendance and everyone enjoyed the night.

Condolences were extended to the families of three of the association’s members who had passed away since last session - Morag Black, Kate Campbell and Calum Lamont.
