THE SUN was shin­ing last Thurs­day as the award-win­ning Oban high school pipe band and a group of High­land dancers per­formed at McCaig’s tower.

The event was or­gan­ised by Oban and Lorn Lions club and was watched by a large crowd.

The pipe band played a va­ri­ety of songs from the group’s set list from 7pm un­til 8pm, tak­ing breaks in be­tween to al­low the High­land dancers to take cen­tre stage.

The Oban and Lorn Lions Club try to or­gan­ise a per­for­mance night ev­ery month dur­ing the sum­mer, but due to the dark nights mak­ing a re­turn, this was the last one un­til next year.

Bill Coutts, pres­i­dent of Oban and Lorn Lions Club, said: ‘The evening was very good as usual.

‘Those young­sters are un­be­liev­able and they draw in a crowd.
