A towering back-drop for pipers, d

-

THE SUN was shining last Thursday as the award-winning Oban high school pipe band and a group of Highland dancers performed at McCaig’s tower.

The event was organised by Oban and Lorn Lions club and was watched by a large crowd.

The pipe band played a variety of songs from the group’s set list from 7pm until 8pm, taking breaks in between to allow the Highland dancers to take centre stage.

The Oban and Lorn Lions Club try to organise a performance night every month during the summer, but due to the dark nights making a return, this was the last one until next year.

Bill Coutts, president of Oban and Lorn Lions Club, said: ‘The evening was very good as usual.

‘Those youngsters are unbelievable and they draw in a crowd.

‘The support from them has been excellent.’ HIGH FLYING: Two Highland dancers ge

ground during a routine.
