A PRIS­ONER who as­saulted a po­lice­man and at­tempted to bite se­cu­rity staff will spend another 160 days in jail, Fort Wil­liam sher­iff court heard this week.

Luke Mob­sby pleaded guilty to the of­fences when he ap­peared from cus­tody on Tues­day.

Sher­iff Richard David­son heard the 21-year- old be­came ag­gres­sive when he re­ceived a cus­to­dial sen­tence in the same court on June 23 and as­saulted two men, as well as at­tempt­ing to el­bow and bite them. Mob­sby is al­ready serv­ing a prison sen­tence for another of­fence, with an ear­li­est re­lease date of De­cem­ber 31. Sher­iff David­son said: ‘I can­not tol­er­ate the as­sault of po­lice and se­cu­rity staff while they work. I would be fail­ing in my duty if a cus­to­dial sen­tence wasn’t lodged.’
