A PRISONER who assaulted a policeman and attempted to bite security staff will spend another 160 days in jail, Fort William sheriff court heard this week.

Luke Mobsby pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared from custody on Tuesday.

Sheriff Richard Davidson heard the 21-year- old became aggressive when he received a custodial sentence in the same court on June 23 and assaulted two men, as well as attempting to elbow and bite them. Mobsby is already serving a prison sentence for another offence, with an earliest release date of December 31. Sheriff Davidson said: ‘I cannot tolerate the assault of police and security staff while they work. I would be failing in my duty if a custodial sentence wasn’t lodged.’
