Russell welcomes knife crime drop
MSP FOR Argyll and Bute, Michael Russell, has welcomed the news that crimes of handling an offensive weapon have fallen 64 per cent in the area.
The statistics cover knife crimes.
Mr Russell said: ‘ These strong statistics are testament to the hard-work of our police officers and all of those people who support them in keeping our communities safe.
‘Fewer young people are now convicted of carrying a knife – it is important that we continue to educate young people about the serious consequences of carrying knives.’
