Bags of cash for worthy causes
THE Co- operative retail group is sharing money raised through the sale of carrier bag, and is asking for nominations for good causes in Argyll and Bute which would benefit from the cash.
The retailer has said around 1,000 organisations across Scotland will receive grants of between £200 and £2,500.
In addition to the 5p minimum charge on single-use bags, the Co- op has also pledged to go further and top up the fund with proceeds from its entire range of carriers.
Good causes can be nominated until midnight on Wednesday, October 7.
