KILBRANDON SWI kicked off the new session with ‘Old Oban in Photographs’. The speaker was Bob McCulloch, assisted by Charlie Drummond.

Born and brought up in Oban and delighted to share some of the history of the town and the surrounding areas, Bob and Charlie gave members a glimpse into what life was like in the past through a slideshow of old photographs acquired from various sources, along with a very insightful commentary.

Members were fascinated to see old photos of the Atlantic Bridge, old Easdale with a steamer coming through, Argyll Square, the Hydropathic Hotel and much more. It was a truly interesting and pleasurable evening.
