Almost £3K seized off Oban supplier

-

AN OBAN man who admitted supplying cannabis from his home has had more than £2,700 of cash seized by the town’s sheriff court.

James Adam Richell, 30, of Lorne Avenue, supplied the class B drug on March 5 this year, the court heard on Monday, September 28.

Procurator fiscal, Eoin McGinty, said that £2,785 had been seized in total at the property by police and asked for it to be confiscated.

Sheriff Ruth Anderson, QC, deferred sentence on Richell until October 13 for criminal justice reports, and ordered the money to be forfeited.

The court also heard that Richell had committed the offence while on bail granted at Dumbarton sheriff court on December 2 last year.

The person who issued the cheques was satisfied that the £150 had been donated to charity. The sheriff admonished Armstrong on Monday at Oban sheriff court.
