Marine Harvest National Shinty Award winners announced

THE 2015 Marine Harvest National Shinty Award winners were announced on Friday October 23 at a ceremony and dinner in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness.

The awards were presented by Marine Harvest’s business support manager Steve Bracken.

Winners were: Coach of the Year - John MacRitchie, Lovat Shinty Club; Player of the Year - Grant Irvine, Kyles Athletic; Club of the Year 2015 - Skye Camanachd.

League coaches and player awards: Premiership Coach of the Year - Paul John MacKintosh, Newtonmore; National Division Coach of the Year - John MacLeod, Skye; South Division 1 Coach of the Year - Gareth Evans, Lochside Rovers; North Division 1 Coach of the Year - Cammy MacDonald, Newtonmore; South Division 2 Coach of the Year - Jimmy Edgar, Col Glen; North Division 2 Coach of the Year - Davie Pringle, Skye; Premiership Player of the Year - Glen MacKintosh, Newtonmore; National Division Player of the Year - Jordan Murchison, Skye; South Division 1 Player of the Year - Daniel Madej, Oban Celtic; North Division 1 Player of the Year - Callum Stewart, Newtonmore; South Division 2 Player of the Year - Finlay Stark, Tayforth; North Division 2 Player of The Year - Steven Cameron, Glengarry.

Women’s Awards: Volunteer of the Year – Marion Gillies, Skye; Development League Team of the Year 2015 - Fort William; National Division 2 Team of the Year - Ardnamurchan; National Division 1 Team of the Year - Glasgow Mid Argyll; Development League Player of the Year - Hannah Johnson, Inverness; National Division 2 Player of the Year - Morgan Redpath, Strathglass; National Division 1 Player of the Year 2015 - Emma Gordon, Skye

Youth Awards: Coach of the Year - Victor Smith and Ali Clark, Fort William; Under 14 Player of the Year - Ryan Boyle, Fort William; Under 17 Player of the Year - Danny Kelly, Lovat; Under 21 Player of the Year - Fraser Heath, Glenurquhart; Donella Crawford Award for Youth and Schools - Graeme MacDiarmid, Glasgow Kelvin.
