Hunt on for four alleged attackers

POLICE are hunting four men who allegedly assaulted an 18-year- old man at about 8am last Sunday morning near Moray Place, Fort William.

He was attacked in the car park and punched in the face causing him to fall and hit his head.

Police are appealing to anyone in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen anything to come forward or dial 101 in confidence.

Man reported to procurator fiscal

POLICE have appealed for informatio­n following a traffic incident on the A87 near Cluanie at about 3.30pm on Friday September 18.

Police Scotland says that a 63-year- old man from Edinburgh has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the matter.

Anyone with concerns about road traffic incidents is encouraged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Prison van crashes near South Laggan

A G4S van with one prisoner on board left the A82 road near South Laggan at 8.25am on Monday.

Police, two fire tenders and an ambulance attended the accident. The woman driving the prison van suffered minor injuries.

The prisoner was checked by ambulance staff at the scene before being put in another van for his trip to court.

The A82 was not blocked and recovery services cleared the van later in the day.
