Teenager admits pushing pregnant former partner

-

THE break-up of his relationship with his pregnant partner ended with a 19-year- old man in the dock at Oban Sheriff Court on Monday.

Drew Davidson, of 93 McKelvie Road, Oban, admitted pushing his partner and causing her to fall, and also acting in a threatening and abusive manner and breaking a window at the home they shared in the town.

The incidents happened on August 18 after his partner had told him their relationship was over and he had gone to the property to collect his possessions.

He admitted he was drunk at the time. A neighbour had heard noise and called the police.

He told officers: ‘I smashed the window and I will pay for it. It’s ok for a woman to hit a man but it’s not ok for a man to hit a woman. I went up there to get my stuff and she hit me.’

Davidson denied breaching a bail condition imposed after the incident that he did not approach his partner; they were seen by police officers walking alongside each other and talking on September 4.

‘It’s just lies,’ said Davidson, a trainee chef. His former partner also came to court to say that while Davidson had been on the street near her she did not realise it was him until the police stopped him.

‘I told police he was just walking down the same street as me,’ she said.

Sheriff Ruth Anderson QC found Davidson guilty and sentence was deferred until December 8, when Davidson is due to appear before the court on another matter.
