Ahoy! Name the boat for new adventure playground

A COMPETITION for local kids to name the magnificent boat in the newly-built Oban play park and to win an iPad mini will go live today [ Thursday] on Facebook.

A shortlist of five names was selected by the Oban Times and Friends of Oban Community Playpark and will appear on the friends’ Facebook page.

A short survey will ask people to declare their favourite boat name from The Swashbuckler, HMS Community Spirit, The Jewel of Oban, The Scallywag and The Yo Ho Ho.

Voting will close at midnight on Tuesday, November 10, with the name announced at the at the play park opening party at noon on Sunday November 29.
