MUCKAIRN Church Taynuilt Guild members and guests met recently in the church.

Stella Huntingford led the prayers, Marlene Stanners gave the reading and vote of thanks and everyone sang the hymns ‘Christ’s the world in which we move’ and ‘Make us a channel of your peace’.

Conor Smart gave a talk about his work with WhizzKidz, a national charity founded in 1990 and only just growing in Scotland. It gives young adults and children who are disabled more confidence and independence enabling them to lead more active and interesting lives. It does this by giving them appropriate wheel- chairs and the training to use them and running clubs. Ambassador clubs for disabled people aged between 10 and 25 years old offer fun and friendship through a variety of activities such as sport, music and drama and are parent-free zones. The aim is that the young people can own and take a leading role in running ambassador clubs themselves.
