Susie Wolff calls it a day on F1

WILLIAMS F1 test driver Susie Wolff, from Oban, is to retire from motorsport.

Susie, 32, was the first woman to take part in a Grand Prix weekend for more than 20 years – but told BBC News on Wednesday morning: ‘My goal was to get onto the starting grid and that didn’t look achievable. So I had to call it a day. There was very little opportunity to carry on in Formula 1.’
