FOLLOWING their exhilarating set at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow as part of this year’s Celtic Connec t ions , folk-fusion band Skerryvore announced the first acts joining them for OBANLIVE on May 13 and 14.

A superstar line-up of Scottish acts includes Julie Fowlis, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, Skipinnish and the legendary Capercaillie – who will be returning to their home town with a host of special guests.

Joining them will be mult i- award- winning Irish group We Banjo 3, who will visit Argyll as part of their world tour.

Skerryvore will be joined by special guests Blair Douglas and former Silencers frontman JJ Gilmour as they return to the scene of their special Decade concert last May.

Skerryvore piper Martin Gillespie told The Oban Times: ‘We are absolutely delighted that the biggest names in Celtic music are coming to Oban in May for the first ObanLive. Many of these acts have been musical icons of ours that provided the inspiration to our sound and development, so to share the stage with them is a real honour and very exciting for us – and to think we still have the headline act to announce!’
