Primary school sports day fun

-

ST COLUMBA’S Primary School enjoyed the sunshine for their annual school sports day on Friday.

The children were piped in to Mossfield Stadium by Oban High School Pipe Band for a parade in their clan groups before the games began.

They started with a fantastic performance from their team in the inter-schools mile race and won first place. Callie Campbell, Charlie MacKenzie, Daniel Beaton and Jessica Graham were very pleased to be bringing the shield back to the St Columba’s trophy cabinet. The rest of the day also had many victories and lot of fun and laughter from all the children who enjoyed a variety of events from the sack race to the more adventurous hopper and three-legged race. Much to everyone’s delight, the mothers and fathers races were both very busy and provided great entertainment for the cheering spectators. Well done to all the pre-schoolers and toddlers who took part in the little races and who joined in on enjoying an ice-lolly after all the excitement.

The school would like to thank all the wonderful people who helped make it such a fun event: Oban High School Pipe Band, Oban High School volunteer staff and students, the Parent Council and all the families who came to watch and enjoy the day. And well done to all the children who showed great sportsmanship.
